NO HOMEWORK THIS WEEK! Monday, May 21: In addition to regular class activities, students will complete their lemonade stands. Tuesday, May 22: In addition to regular class activities, students will serve lemonade to MS during their morning test break (10:00-10:25) LS students will come to the lemonade stands following the MS. Times are flexible! Wednesday, May 23: In addition to regular class activities, students will complete The Lemonade War & AR test. Thursday, May 24: Reading Celebration Please bring a book, blanket, pillow & flip-flops for a fun reading day! Friday, May 25: 8:30 In-Class Celebrations & Awards(Students & Teachers) ; 10:30 – Moving Up Day Ceremony! (Parents welcome!) Dismissal at 11:45 HAPPY SUMMER!
Reading Homework for May 2018: Students select an AR book for Independent Reading (20 minutes & Reading Response). Beginning the week of May 7th: 2 nights per week, students will read an assigned chapter in The Lemonade War & prepare for discussion in class the next day. This assignment will count for the 20 minutes of reading & the Reading Response.
Reminder: A variety of lists are available to 4th Grade students to meet the needs of "all kinds of spellers" in our classes. The Blue list consists of basic 5th grade Harcourt/Brace spelling words. Our goal is to expose students to regular & irregular spelling patterns while learning definitions & usage to enhance writing skills. Fourth Grade Homework Information Goal: practice, review, preview – not for a grade usually Time: Target is no more than 40-60 minutes per day Study Hall: Students attending After School Care will attend 1 hour study hall Weekend: Usually no homework except for a special assignment Please note Standing Assignments: Nightly Reading for 20 minutes independently or with a parent & recording time on the Reading Log in binder.
